Lovereel Pty Ltd (ABN 93 642 268 693) ("we", "us", "our") is a wedding videography and photography service based in Sydney, NSW. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

What we collect

Contact form. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name and email address, plus any wedding date, wedding location, hours of coverage, services, message, and subscription preference you give us. Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects information about your device and how you use the page to check that you're not a robot. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

If you become a client. Once you book our services, we may also collect the full names of both partners, your phone number and postal address, emergency contact details, your wedding timeline and venue details, bridal party names, vendor details, music preferences and song choices, and any other details you provide in our wedding questionnaire. We do not collect or store credit card numbers or bank account details. Payments are processed through separate payment platforms.

Live-streaming. If you watch a live-stream we host, we may keep the chat and a record of viewers who accessed it.

Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This collects data including pages visited, time on site, device type, and approximate location. This data does not directly identify you. Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored on your device. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some website features may not function as expected, or use the opt-out service provided by Google.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to respond to your enquiry and provide a quote, manage your booking and deliver our services, communicate with you about your wedding (timelines, questionnaires, deliveries), send marketing communications such as updates, promotions, and inspiration (only if you opted in), coordinate with your wedding vendors on the day, arrange delivery of physical products such as albums and USBs, and improve our website and services.

We will never sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Client management system — stores your enquiry and booking details, service agreement, invoices, and questionnaire responses.

Payment processor — processes your payments.

Google Analytics and Google reCAPTCHA — website usage data and spam protection.

YouTube — hosting your wedding films.

Online gallery platform — hosting your wedding photos. Full galleries are password-protected.

Album printing lab — when you order an album, we share your name, delivery address, and email address and/or mobile number with the lab that prints it, so they can post it directly to you and pass your details to their courier for tracking updates.

Delivery and courier services (e.g. Australia Post) — when we post a physical product to you, we share your name, delivery address, and email address and/or mobile number with the carrier so they can deliver it and send you tracking updates. The carrier handles these details under its own privacy policy and may also use them to contact you about its own services.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum information necessary for each service to function.

Photos and videos

Wedding photos and videos are a core part of our service. As outlined in your service agreement, we may use photos and video from your wedding on our website, social media, and marketing materials, publish your wedding films publicly on YouTube as a premiere, and share gallery and film links with vendors who participated in your wedding (venue, florist, celebrant, etc.) so they can view and share the work.

If you have a specific privacy concern, such as a safety, professional, or cultural reason, please talk to us before booking so we can discuss it with you. If you have a concern about how your photos or videos are being used after delivery, contact us and we'll work through it with you.

How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure, including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limiting access to authorised personnel only. Some of the services we use to manage bookings, host galleries and films, and process payments store data outside Australia, including in the United States.

We retain your contact and booking information for as long as necessary to deliver our services and meet our legal obligations. Wedding footage is retained for a reasonable period after final delivery, after which it may be archived or deleted.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections if any of it is inaccurate or out of date, opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time, request deletion of your personal information (subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it), and lodge a complaint if you believe we have mishandled your information.

Marketing communications

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, and we will promptly remove you from our mailing list. Emails directly related to your enquiry or booking (quotes, confirmations, delivery notifications, questionnaire reminders) are not marketing — they are part of our service.
